Truck Driver, Heavy

CGI is seeking a Heavy Truck Driver to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Washington, DC.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
.Drive a large (10-wheel) truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between warehouses and facilities in the National Capital Region.
.Load or unload the truck using a forklift, hand, or power trucks, with or without assistance.
.Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while considering traffic and weather conditions.
.Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure they are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
.Maintain detailed logs of working hours, vehicle service and repair status, delivery instructions, and customer signatures.
.Demonstrate physical stamina to drive long hours and handle the physical demands of loading and unloading heavy cargo.
.Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to manage unexpected situations such as traffic delays or mechanical issues.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
.A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required, along with any necessary endorsements for specific vehicle types.
.Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations, as well as vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
.Adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations, including weight limits and driving hours regulations.
.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hourly Rate: $28.39/hour

The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
