Addepar is hiring a Staff Software Engineer who will bring to bear their deep technical expertise, architectural leadership, and strategic vision to create enterprise-grade solutions for our Financial Data Lakehouse, AI, and Data Governance initiatives.

Applicants must have, and maintain, the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Work in partnership with global product managers, executives, and cross-functional technical partners to define the long-term roadmap and architect solutions for the most complex technology and workflow problems
  • Drive the technical vision for Addepar’s Data Lakehouse, ensuring it serves as a scalable, central financial data hub through robust integrations and future-proof architectural standards
  • Master cross-coast collaboration, effectively bridging technical execution and communication between distributed offices and time zones to ensure global project alignment.
  • Act as a force multiplier for engineering teams by providing high-level technical guidance, mentoring senior engineers, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and rigorous design
  • Lead the architectural evolution of our data platform by staying hands-on in system design and critical code development, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across the stack

Who You Are

  • A high-leverage technical leader with a low-ego, collaborative approach; capable of navigating organizational ambiguity and solving problems that impact multiple product lines
  • A dedicated mentor with a passion for coaching junior talent, helping them grow their technical skills while instilling engineering best practices
  • Expert in steering engineering strategy through agile practices, balancing the need for rapid experimentation with the long-term stability of mission-critical financial infrastructure.
  • Deeply experienced in cloud-native architecture, service-oriented design, and automated infrastructure at a global scale
  • Expert-level understanding of PySpark and Databricks (or equivalent large-scale data processing frameworks) with the ability to set the "gold standard" for how these technologies are utilized within the company

PHISHING SCAM WARNING: Addepar is among several companies recently made aware of a phishing scam involving con artists posing as hiring managers recruiting via email, text and social media. The imposters are creating misleading email accounts, conducting remote “interviews,” and making fake job offers in order to collect personal and financial information from unsuspecting individuals. Please be aware that no job offers will be made from Addepar without a formal interview process. Additionally, Addepar will not ask you to purchase equipment or supplies as part of your onboarding process. If you have any questions, please reach out to ta-operations@addepar.com.
