Description

The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all products manufactured meet stringent quality standards and comply with established product specifications. This position involves conducting detailed materials testing and visual inspections to identify any deviations or defects early in the production process. The technician will be responsible for calibrating laboratory and testing equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability in all quality assessments. By implementing corrective actions when necessary, the technician helps to minimize product non-conformities and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in quality control, materials science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably in durable goods.
  • Strong knowledge of materials testing methods, visual inspection techniques, and equipment calibration.
  • Familiarity with chemical testing procedures and interpreting product specifications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, to support production schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Certification in quality control or quality assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician).
  • Working knowledge of corrective action processes and root cause analysis.
  • Experience using quality management software and data reporting tools.
  • Prior experience in a durable goods manufacturing facility located in or near Elk Point, SD.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine materials testing and chemical analysis to verify product quality.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of products and components to detect defects or inconsistencies.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory and testing equipment to ensure precise measurement results.
  • Document inspection results and test data accurately, preparing reports for quality assurance review.
  • Identify quality issues and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all product specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and support quality control processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality control procedures and product reliability.
