Position: Manufacturing Project Engineer/Manager

Pay Rate: $43.00 - $48.00 per hour (W2 Only)

Seeking to hire a Project Engineer to support paint and surface finishing operations for new model launches at Manufacturing Indiana. They will focus on capital improvement projects, equipment modifications, and process-readiness to support safety, quality, and delivery targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Lead cross-functional projects that support new model introductions and equipment installations/improvements
Develop scope, specifications, and validation plans for tooling, automation, and manufacturing systems
Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables using structured problem-solving and effective communication
Conduct equipment investigations and root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions
Partner closely with Production Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality, and OEM suppliers
Oversee installation, commissioning, and change management while ensuring strong safety compliance
Support production trials and report readiness status using standards and methodologies.
DAILY TASKS:
Project Manage project timelines, budgets, scopes, and documentation equipment specifications and issue tracking.
Engineer will investigation, make process plans, create specifications, work with vendors, improvement and refurbishment projects, as well as implement equipment modifications for new model launches.
Adherence to safety standards and regulations.
No direct paint engineering experience required, Seeking a strong technical leader with proven project execution skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
2+ years in Project Management/Engineering, ideally within the Manufacturing sector.
Project Managed project timelines, budgets, scopes, and documentation equipment specifications and issue tracking.
Experience leading cross-functional projects that support new model introductions and equipment installations/improvements
Demonstrated success managing technical projects with multiple stakeholders
Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.
Strong problem-solving mindset using structured approaches (e.g., PDCA, 5-Why, DMAIC) Preferred
Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements clearly
Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and industrial equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft tools: Excel, MS Project, and Outlook
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
Other Requirements:
10%: Travel - Domestic and International (has a valid US Passport) Canada, Mexico and Japan
12%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
PPE: Will wear Steel Toed Shoes/Hard Hat and Safety Glasses
Desired Skills/Nice To Have's:
Experience with commissioning and equipment buy-off at vendor sites
Working knowledge of CATIA or 3D modeling software is ideal
Exposure to North American safety standards and engineering specifications
PMP or related engineering certifications
