Description

We are a leading component manufacturer specializing in wall panels, floor systems, and roof trusses for the multi-family construction sector. With a dedicated workforce of 100 employees and a strong reputation for quality and efficiency, we serve top-tier builders and developers across the region. We are entering a new phase of strategic growth and looking for a dynamic, hands-on Production Planner to join our team.

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating job flow from Design through Production, managing production schedules, and ensuring materials are available and properly staged to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role balances plant capacity, inventory levels, and customer deadlines while identifying bottlenecks and driving improvements in workflow and material flow. The position works closely with Design, Sales, and plant leadership to ensure jobs are production-ready and inventory is aligned with operational needs.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex environments and making a visible impact on daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling

Oversee job processing from Design to Production to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness.

Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer deadlines and production goals.

Reprioritize work based on capacity, material availability, and changing customer needs.

Identify bottlenecks or workflow issues impacting throughput, quality, or delivery timelines.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling efficiency and production flow.

Inventory Planning & Control

Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.

Coordinate receiving, staging, and material flow to minimize delays and production downtime.

Align materials, equipment availability, and labor needs with production demand.

Optimize inventory flow and storage to improve efficiency and reduce handling or congestion.

Communicate material shortages, excess inventory, or risks to production schedules.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Design to ensure job packets, drawings, and production details are accurate and complete.

Partner with Sales to align production capacity with customer expectations and delivery commitments.

Communicate production status, schedule changes, and inventory constraints to plant leadership.

Report operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to leadership.

Process Improvement & Support

Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Assist with standardizing processes related to job flow, scheduling, and inventory control.

Support plant leadership with reporting, planning, and coordination as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt plans as conditions change.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and production capacity planning.

Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic production or inventory tracking tools (ERP experience a plus).

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or inventory control.

Experience in truss, panel, or component manufacturing strongly preferred, but not required.

Working knowledge of inventory planning, material flow, and production scheduling principles.

Why Join Us

Opportunity to improve and build processes, not just maintain them.

High-impact role with visibility across production, inventory, and leadership.

Collaborative, hands-on manufacturing environment.

Growth potential as the operation continues to evolve and modernize.
