Description

Primary responsibility is to transfer trucks and parts throughout the campuses to meet production, service and supply chain needs. Occasional off campus deliveries of trucks and parts will be required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transportation of truck parts to various locations on the campus using a gooseneck trailer and various other yard vehicles
  • Transportation of built trucks and bare chassis to various locations on the campus
  • Staging of trucks in their corresponding locations to meet production, service and supply chain needs
  • Occasional deliveries and or pick up of trucks and or parts to off campus sites
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and be outside for extended periods of time
  • Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions
  • Must have strong operating knowledge of heavy duty trucks and freight hauling
  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them
  • Maintains professional appearance and represents the company by professional demeanor, being courteous with all those coming into contact.
  • Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
  • Participates in all available training programs.
  • Must work with and for all departments in harmony.
  • Other duties as assigned.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Minimum Class A license
  • Insurable under company insurance requirements


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of two years driving experience.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must also possess the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization. Must speak, read and understand English.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

High skill level driving heavy trucks. Highly detail oriented and organized in work. Must have acceptable written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results. Must have initiative and the ability act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Must possess a strong desire to learn.
