Description

The Senior Analyst, Energy Purchasing supports the implementation of the company’s energy procurement strategy to ensure reliable, sustainable and cost-effective supply of electricity and natural gas, renewables and energy efficiency solutions. Provides day-to-day operational support and business intelligence for strategic energy purchasing, delivering advanced data analytics, market insights, forecasting, project coordination, and comprehensive reporting, providing insights that optimize purchasing decisions, in compliance with corporate policies. The Senior Analyst collaborates in a daily basis with internal stakeholders and suppliers to align procurement activities with operational and sustainability objectives.

  • Data analytics, Modeling, Spend management, Budgets: Coordination with Energy consultants and sites to collect and analyze load profiles, energy usage and spend data, develop financial evaluation models and forecasts, Energy Budgets.
  • Market Intelligence, Regulatory changes monitoring and compliance: Continuous monitoring of energy markets, pricing, demand, new technologies development and regulatory changes that might impact procurement decisions, risk management and compliance. Sustainability commitments and compliance tracking support. Provide updates and opportunities for utility rebate and incentive programs and act as the central SME for all utility-related matters. Maximize recovery of all eligible tax benefits from Canadian tax incentives.
  • Energy Physical Supply: Contracting and implementation support. Manage RFQ, RFP process for Gas supply, electricity supply, on-site renewables, energy efficiency services and other supply and services under the energy category.
  • Energy Management, efficiency and sustainability projects support: Support the company energy management and sustainability strategy focused on Energy Usage, Decarbonization, and Energy Security/Resiliency.
  • Vendor & Change Management, SRM: Vendor Performance and Compliance, Onboarding & Offboarding of Vendors, maintain an updated list of vendors and utilities.
  • Billing support: Oversee third-party utility bill management / pay program, ensuring a smooth collaboration to resolve missing bills and account access issues between the plants, Accounts payable and the service provider. Set up new accounts / sites and close utility accounts.
  • Reporting, repository management: Develop relevant reports to internal stakeholders (dashboards, presentations). Maintain and enhance the Energy SharePoint site by sharing success stories and communications for internal stakeholders. Lead the contracts repository management.

Is this job for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience in the required field.
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in a procurement or energy related role required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, utility, or energy company preferred.
  • Energy Market knowledge. . Strong analytical and forecasting skills; proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools.
