Overview

As a Senior Underwriter, you’ll analyze insurance applications and manage large or high-risk clients that are within the Social Services/Human Services sector. You’ll develop strategies, train team members, and ensure compliance with guidelines. This position will be responsible for handling both new business and renewals within their assigned territory and work to build strong relationships with retail and carrier contacts while driving business growth and profitability.

This is a remote opportunity within the United States.

How you'll make an impact

  • Assess insurance applications, evaluate risks, and determine the right coverage and pricing for Human Services accounts.
  • Work with complex accounts and provide guidance to the underwriting team, helping them make informed decisions and create tailored insurance solutions.
  • Mentor teammates to help them grow professionally and achieve their goals.
  • Develop underwriting strategies, monitor team performance, and generate reports to track key metrics like policy performance and market trends.
  • Build strong relationships with retail and carrier contacts which will be a key part of success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current within the industry.

About You

  • 5-7 years of related Underwriting experience required.
  • Strong communicator, an ambitious team player, and someone who thrives on solving complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office; familiarity with ImageRight is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet business requirements.

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
