The National Police Commission (NPC) of Sri Lanka is an independent body established under the Constitution to ensure a professional, accountable, and, for the most part, depoliticized police service. It holds authority over appointments, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary control of police officers (excluding the IGP), while investigating public complaints to uphold the rule of law.
