Overview
The Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) is Sri Lanka’s national authority, established by Act No. 32 of 2005, that accredits organizations like testing labs, inspection bodies, and certification bodies against international standards (like ISO) to ensure quality, build trust, and facilitate trade by reducing technical barriers for Sri Lankan products and services. Operating under the Ministry of Trade (and formerly Science/Tech), SLAB ensures local conformity assessment bodies meet global benchmarks, holding memberships with ILAC and IAF for mutual recognition.
