The University of Ruhuna (UoR) is a leading public university in Southern Sri Lanka, established in 1978 (as a college) and fully becoming a university in 1984, known for quality education, research, and community service with its motto “Wisdom to mankind is a treasure”. It’s the only university in the southern region, featuring ten faculties (like Agriculture, Medicine, Engineering, Fisheries) spread across campuses in Matara, Kamburupitiya, and Galle, focusing on advancing knowledge, nurturing creativity, and serving society.
