The National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) is Sri Lanka’s largest state-owned enterprise for livestock breeding, production, and development, managing over 30 integrated farms. Established in 1973, it focuses on dairy (cattle/buffalo), poultry, and small ruminant breeding, while providing high-quality breeding materials and training to local farmers to increase national production.
