Laksala (Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board) is the only state-owned gift and souvenir boutique in Sri Lanka, established in 1964 (later under Act No. 35 of 1982) to preserve, develop, and market traditional handicrafts. Operating 12+ island-wide showrooms, it supports thousands of local artisans by retailing, exporting, and franchising high-quality, authentic products like gems, brass, textiles, and spices.
