Network Engineer

Global Bank in NYC is seeking a Network Engineer, to join their Information Technology team in a newly created role. Requirements include 5+ years hands on network support experience preferably with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; experience working with a Cybersecurity team and Bilingual fluency Mandarin Chinese and English.

Position summary: Network Engineer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting the network, ensuring optimal network performance, security, and connectivity by configuring network devices, managing network infrastructure, and resolving technical issues related to data transmission and network access.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions using Cisco and Fortinet products. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions using Cisco products;
• Configure and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs;
• Plan and manage network installations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime;
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues to ensure uninterrupted services;
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network issues, including routing problems, firewall configurations, and security vulnerabilities;
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other security solutions to safeguard the network from threats;
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards;
• Participate in regular network audits and security assessments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience;
• 5+ years hands on network support experience preferably with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls;
• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin Chinese (reading, writing, speaking) and English is required.
• Experience working with a Cybersecurity team.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, and in-depth knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, QoS, and other key networking concepts;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred;
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) preferred.

Salary range: $100,000-$180,000 based on experience. Bonus eligible.Network Engineer job details loaded
