Junior Operational Risk Manager

Global Bank is seeking a Junior Operational Risk Manager to join their New York City Risk Management team, in a newly created position.

Junior Operational Risk Manager Responsibilities:

• Junior Operational Risk Manager will update operational risk procedures to ensure that the procedure reflects best practice
• Analyze and aggregate risk events reported by the business units and performing root cause analyses on identified risk events to recommend improvements to prevent these risk events from re-occurring
• Junior Operational Risk Manager will assist in organizing a regular bank-wide operational risk control self-assessment and performing analysis on the results and making mitigating recommendations
• Successfully monitor the implementation of key operational risk indicators and analyzing identified trends in the key risk indicators reported to Risk Management
• Assist in coordinating risk management activities in connection to initiation, development, approval and post-evaluation of new, modified and expanded products and services
• Assist in coordinating bank-wide Risk Assessment (“RA”) and conducting Risk Assessment (“RA”) in BCP, and preparing related reports
• Provide backup coverage in other risk areas if needed
• Successfully complete the mandatory annual BSA/AML and OFAC training
• Additional other tasks and projects as assigned by Department Head and senior staff in the team

Junior Operational Risk Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics
• Bilingual in English/Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking) required for communication with head office
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant banking experience.
• Knowledge of general operational risk & control practices and disciplines preferred.
• Strong analytical skills especially with regards to understanding business risk, processes, procedures and operational controls • Excellent writing and communication skills
• Team player. Strong attention to detail.
