JOB SUMMARY: Manages and delivers career development counseling, programs and workshops to students and alumni that empower them to pursue their educational and professional aspirations. Oversees and trains graduate assistants and interns to support students' career development. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES: 40% - Essential - Career Counseling Program Management: Provides career counseling, workshops, and programming to students and alumni. Assists individuals with career decision-making, career development plans, career inventory interpretations, developing career competencies, the intern and job search process, professional document development, interviewing techniques, etc. Develops new workshops, tip sheets, and resources to remain current. 20% - Essential - Student Program Management: Manages, markets, and staff's pre-fair events. Oversees and coordinates undergraduate orientation sessions, ensuring appropriate staffing and support. Serves as the liaison for the Bridge to Clemson program, facilitating workshops and staffing related events. 20% - Essential - Outreach: Collaborates with the CD teams manager of outreach programming to provide tabling and selected major-specific events, to increase the Career Center's visibility and support students' career development. 20% - Essential - Personnel Management: Manages, hires, trains, and evaluates graduate students and interns. Ensures these students are well-versed in career development topics. Develops new workshops, tip sheets, and resources to remain current. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 year(s) in student services PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Education - Master's Degree in student services programs or 1 year of coursework towards a master's in counseling or student affairs Work Experience - Student services programs RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises Work of Others - Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions. BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 35% - Walk or move about 35% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself 10% - Extends hands or arms in any direction 20% - Perceive, observe, clarity of vision WORKING CONDITIONS: No Work Conditions WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hours: 37.5 COMPENSATION INFORMATION Expected Salary Range: $ 47,588.00 - $ 50,961.00. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines. ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
