The primary purpose of the Resident Aide is to assist the Nursing staff in performing non-technical assigned tasks.
- Assist in resident transports throughout the facility and to and from medical appointments as assigned
- Assist in passing fluids and nourishment to residents after completing appropriate in-servicing under guidance of the LPN/Charge Nurse
- Assist the nursing staff in performing tasks as assigned such as bed-making for empty beds only, straightening linens, cleaning closets and bedside tables, answer call lights and resident’s alarms
- Attend facility offered feeding assistant course as scheduled (expected competency to assist feeding residents as assigned)
- All other non-technical duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Care Coordinator
- Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations

Physical Requirements:
- Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
- Occasional balancing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, lifting, pulling, seeing/monitor/computer use, stooping
- Frequent grasping, hearing, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
- Constant fit testing
