Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice.

• Identifies patient concerns and communicates to provider, updates patient medical history, pain
  assessments, ID patient
• Demonstrates skills and knowledge when preparing and setting up operatory for procedures and
  educating patients at the request of the provider
• Cross covers and assists front desk as needed
• Demonstrates skills and knowledge when interacting with patient and provider with clear concise
  communication
• Prepares patient for scheduled procedure
• Decontaminates instruments & equipment
• Prepares instruments for sterilization according to policies
• Reports damaged or missing instruments
• Orders and stocks supplies
• Maintains infection control standards

Qualifications:

Education/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required

Experience:

• Experience in the dental field, preferred

Licensure/Certificates:

• Certified dental assistant, preferred
• BLS certification within 6 months from date of hire, required

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping

• Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, seeing/monitor/computer use, walking, fit testing

Hazards:

• Occasional chemical, radiation/radiant energy
• Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure

Working Conditions:

• Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, mists, odors

Travel:

• Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis
